David Consulting Group hired VideoNet to conduct two speaker phone interviews with executives in Cincinnati, Ohio as well as London England. These customer testimonials were both from C-level people from within the information management division of Convergys, a global leader in relationship management. “We provide solutions that drive more value from the relationships our clients have with their customers. Convergys turns these everyday interactions into a source of profit and strategic advantage for our clients”, was one of the powerful interview quotes.

The Recording Academy (The Grammy’s) again looked to VideoNet to interview various young up-and-coming Producers, singer/song writers and multi-instrumentalists for the website Grammy 365. “By seeing and hearing from these new emerging artists, I am looking forward to following their careers as they negotiate the real business world”, said Jason Miller, Director of Operations at VideoNet, Inc. The fact is 94% of the video productions today end up on the internet in some fashion and this can accelerate any career.

The EP Henry Company hired VideoNet to produce a series of four demonstration videos through a local Philadelphia ad agency. These roofing-related videos were designed to highlight the safety features of the products as well as distinguish them from their competition. “Companies look to us to solve a specific business challenge and a great video is very effective at that”, said Ron Strobel, President.

Here’s a question for you, or your company. What are you best in the world at? That may seem like a confronting question – but in today’s world, you better have an answer. With Apple it’s fun sleek products ahead of the curve. With Rolls Royce it’s automotive luxury and jet engines. We’re best in the world at investigating why you’d want to make a video in the first place, and then strategically creating a product that gets you the outcome you’re expecting. If you can’t look a prospect in the eye and tell him or her what your best in the world at, you’re in trouble. You suffer from sameness. People are over communicated and more skeptical than ever with a lot of noise out there. Invent what you’re best in the world at, and then use video to connect with someone who desperately needs that product or service.

Just when you wake up to these facts you realize that in today’s world…words are inadequate. That’s why your elaborate text never gets fully read. That’s why you clicked to be watching this video instead of reading our text. Take the time necessary to craft a visual message. Remember the TV commercial, “this is your brain, this is your brain on drugs”. You see someone cracking an egg into a red hot frying pan. You hear the sizzle. You see the poor egg suffering. You get the message. Don’t do drugs because it affects your brain negatively. Educate and engage your prospects with clever imagery and you give your product or service a baked-in realism, currently missing perhaps? Look I know you’re busy, but being active and being productive are two different things. Bottom line; never tell someone something you can show them. Demonstrating with video rocks! Find a good video producer to find a visual core message and watch doors open for you.

At times they have looked sleepy, uninterested and can’t wait for the day to be over. This was my first impression anyway. Our guys wear VideoNet shirts (unless hired by a competitor) and are always awake and excited to get well framed, in-focus pictures with crystal clear sound. Attitude is everything.

Do more than is asked, a simple concept that separates the true professionals from the wedding guys. It starts with first observing some determinations as to the level of expertise of your producer and/or people to be videotaped. If you decide that they know exactly what they are doing, then you need not say much at all. Just do your job and follow their instructions. But, if you determine that they are inexperienced, then you usually have permission to make critical suggestions so that their shoot goes much better than expected. Things like cut-aways, room tone, b-roll, their editor will love you for it in post.

As filmmakers we can translate that unique ability into exposing products and services that are valuable to others. But remember; be clear, if you’re not, everything comes to a grinding halt. In the film world we have an expression, “the audience is not you”. So what’s obvious to you may not be to them. With video you can make a logical, clear argument, while at the same time entertaining them. They come away better informed, impressed and influenced to see the obvious.

Take an objective look at your website, your window to the world. Is it exciting?

Today we live in a world where people would rather click than read plain text. So add excitement by adding video to your site, providing them with something they can click on. Only 3% of websites have it! If you’re not sure what you would put on it, that’s what we do. We take a look at your competitor’s sites, your strengths, where you see opportunity in your market today, and then make some suggestions to you. As filmmakers, we tell you how we see it.

Bottom line, with video on your site people stay on longer, you will have increased traffic, and your site is more searchable. A bright idea to consider.

I’ve discovered that most crews ignore the obvious. Clean transportation. Most Producers are new to Philadelphia and don’t know their way around. So, they ride with us. There are no words to describe the look on a female producer’s face when she climbs into the back of a filthy, old vehicle to get to that next location. Our vehicles are new, clean, GPS equipped and our producers sit right up front where they belong.
